Trash polka is a style of tattoo that evolved from Germany and was created by two artists, Simone Plaff and Volko Merschky.
Trash Polka tattoos combines the use of realism, fonts, patterns, shapes and movement to create an expressive modern art twist to tattoos.
This style off tattoo only uses red and black ink and is expressed as a collage on the the skin. This style may be applied as a smaller tattoo, but due to the nature of the movement, collage effect and nature of the subject matter, it is best designed to encompass a larger area of the body.
Trash polka tattoos can be designed purely for aesthetics or to convey a client’s personal story.
